“Who Else Wants Access to a Speed Training System
|
"Mr. Ross is one of the best coaches I have ever encountered." “...being a 3 time Olympian and former American Record Holder, I recognize a quality coach and I can say without a doubt that Mr. Ross is one of the best coaches I have ever encountered. His continuing research and willingness to adapt his program to current research makes his program one of the best in the nation.” Pamela Spencer Marquez |
"As a result of my success, I have earned a full track scholarship."
“...effective workouts provided by Coach Ross enabled me to decrease me times and elevate my distances…As a result of my success, I was recruited by a number of top Division I colleges and will be attending the University of California, Berkeley in the fall on a full track scholarship.” Eghosa Isa |
I know it’s hard to believe. But the proof is in the pudding…
Here is Barry Ross’ most accomplished success story…
In 2003, Allyson Felix, a 17 year old high school senior, broke Marion Jones’ National High School Record at 200 meters with a time of 22.51 seconds and ultimately ran the fastest time in the World that year.
She accomplished all this following the exact same principles found in Barry Ross’ Underground Secrets to Faster Running book.
It’s a simple yet very effective training system, that is void of Olympic lifts that many claim need to be apart of a speed and power athletes program.
To give you an idea of how simple the program is, Allyson raced her way to national records and world-wide publicity using only one…you read that right….ONE exercise lift!
Now who wouldn’t want to know how using ONE lift can dramatically improve the success you are having on the track or field?
But let’s break it down further.
The primary factor in faster running is the ability to generate and transmit muscular force into the ground. Not just any amount of force will do. Because there is one force constantly working against you….Gravity.
Gravity exerts the major influence on both horizontal and vertical forces exerted against the ground.
So it stands to reason if you want athletes to get faster, they must get stronger in order to overcome the forces of gravity and move the body forward faster.
But it’s not that simple...
Most athletes (and their coaches) believe that the only way to increase strength is to increase muscle mass.
After all, more mass = more muscle = more strength = more force applied to the ground.
At least that is how athletes are being trained in most athletic programs.
But simple science tells us that more mass = more gravitational pull. It means body mass is working against you.
So it’s not just about the ability to generate and apply force to the ground. It’s about the amount of force in relation to bodyweight. It’s about Mass Specific Force.
And in Underground Secrets to Faster Running, you’ll discover exactly how to use this little known and rarely applied scientific fact to your advantage.
Because the training model you are currently using (if any) won’t get the results you want.
And when you think about it, it makes sense. It can’t just be about force alone.
Consider this:
You have two athletes. Athlete A weighs 400 pounds and can generate 700 pounds of force. Athlete B weighs 170 pounds but can only generate 500 pounds of force.
Who wins?
It’s not even close. Athlete B wins every time.
Why? Because the 400 pound athlete is only generating 1.75 times his bodyweight against the ground while our lighter athlete is generating an impressive 2.94 times his bodyweight.
Sure, the big athlete can generate 40% more force, but that’s nothing compared to the lighter athlete’s 68% greater Mass Specific Force.
So developing the ability to apply mass specific force is the fundamental component to running faster. And quite likely it means completely changing the way you approach strength development.
Underground Secrets to Faster Running provides you with the exact step by step blueprint to make that happen.
"I’ve seen dramatic gains from using Coach Ross’ “I’ve seen dramatic gains from using Coach Ross’ strength program, including higher knee effect from greater ground force. The effect has improved hill climbing, running economy and overall speed in my cross country runners. We even use the weight training system as warm up prior to our harder running workouts.” Wesley Smith |
Of course this doesn’t entirely answer your questions. It still leaves out the biggest piece of the puzzle…
How does this new information affect how you structure your athletes’ running workouts? Must you also make wholesale changes to your speed training program?
Yes.
It goes back to the purposeless training discussed before. Because that’s what your current system of improving speed is. Excessive. And purposeless.
And if that is the case (and it is) then the fundamental question is this:
What is the purpose of training for speed on the track (or field or court)?
Well there are really only 2 purposes for on-track training:
Neuromuscular adaptation and plyometric training.
Simply put, neuromuscular training teaches your athletes’ bodies to adapt to high speed movements without loss of energy. And you can only do that by having them run at top (or near top) speed as often as possible. This type of training needs to be the foundation of your speed development program.
But that’s not new information to you, is it?
Either way, you had better keep reading.
"Training through a long season now gives me little concern “The advantage gained by the time spent in the weight room using Coach Ross’ system is the early adaptation to high intensity workouts on the track. Training for high speed can occur much earlier and continue throughout a long season with little concern about injury.” Jonathan Patton |
"Proof is in the numbers, players are stronger and faster."
“The workout is very efficient and easy to do. The proof is in the numbers, the results are there. The players are faster and stronger.” Tim Von Busch |
Well what about plyometric training?
It is defined as a movement causing a rapid change from eccentric contraction (lengthening a muscle) to concentric contraction (shortening a muscle), in which elastic energy is stored and released.
The act of running fast is a plyometric exercise, so it trains for the storage and release of elastic energy. Elastic energy is a necessary part of increasing your athletes’ speed.
But how much running should your athletes do?
As much as is effective in increasing their speed.
After all, the number and length of repeats should be different for each runner, and they must have a specific length and measurable goal if they are to be effective. Either specific time/distance or distance/time goals work best.
If someone is telling you to run x number of repeats at x distance, ask them why that number and that distance. Ask them how it would specifically benefit your particular needs and demand an answer with specific number goals, such as maximum completion time per rep.
If you’re a coach, ask the same question on behalf of your athletes before you give them a workout, or shame on you!
When running speed decreases to a point below the goal over a set distance, or distance covered decreases to a point below the goal over a set time, their workout should end.
Immediately.
But stopping when goals can no longer be met is not new information. You already do that. Right? Sort of?
This means a running workout could be very long.
Or very short.
But how do you accurately determine the specifics of times, reps and distances?
That depends on the athlete, event and goals of the workout.
What about rest times between repeats?
Here’s a hint. And it applies to workouts on the track and the weight room…
It’s all about the phosphagen pool.
And answers to all the above questions are revealed in Underground Secrets to Faster Running.
But what about problems with running form, what about sleds, hill running or weight vests to increase strength? How about increasing stride length and stride frequency? How do you fix arm swing, improve upper body strength or stop over striding?
It’s all addressed on the track/field/court or in the weight room.
It’s all answered in the book Underground Secrets to Faster Running.
You see, strength training and on-track training are simple.
The protocol of Underground Secrets to Faster Running treats them as that. Instead of inventing new lifts or using lifts based upon false information, its focus is solely on what is really needed to run faster. It takes many of the training aspects of on-track training inside the weight room, thus shortening and laser focusing that protocol as well.
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
And Barry Ross’ Underground Secrets to Faster Running resource will change the way you train your athletes.
You’ll be amazed by the ‘common sense’ approach to training for speed and strength.
If you work with large groups of athletes, you know how difficult it is to coordinate all the drills, skills and exercises of the typical practice. Add teaching and supervising strength training and it’s nearly impossible to accomplish your daily goals.
Not anymore!
Broken down into easy to read language, charts and graphs, Underground Secrets to Faster Running successfully challenges conventional theory. In this must have resource, here is just a sample of what you will discover:

What lengths are you willing to go to, or what feeling would it give you to see the look on your athletes face when they have run a personal best? How about when the interest letters start coming in the mail from college and university programs vying for them to be apart of their program?
What about achieving one of the four fastest times to make the coveted relay team? You cannot truthfully admit that those feelings won’t be worth more than a mere $37 dollars for the cost of the Underground Secrets to Faster Running.
The information you gain from the Underground Secrets to Running Faster system will give you the results you are looking and it will also cut out time you spend on guessing and overcomplicating your coaching strategies therefore making life much easier.
The methods described and written out for you to implement are so successful because they are back by years of scientific research. Barry Ross has a long list of athletes that he has tested his system out on for many years and is now willing to pass this information on to you.
That’s years that you don’t have to dedicate to research, that would take time away from making your athletes better now.
Mind you, one session alone with Barry, during which he would take you through a workout covered in the Underground Secrets to Faster Running would cost you more than double the cost of this program. So you will not find a better opportunity.
The cost of the system is a little more than a dollar a day for one month. A month that you would be implementing the methods and helping your athletes run faster and perform better.
That’s less than what you pay to go and watch other athletes demonstrate the speed and athleticism that you so desperately wish you or your athletes had.
Stop watching others speed by and act on an opportunity for you to be the one speeding by.
