Joe Kenn
NFL Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year
Coach Joe Kenn was named the 2015 NFL Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. He is 30+ year strength & conditioning coaching veteran on the Private, High School, College, and Professional level. H
Kenn was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the NFL's Carolina Panthers from 2011-2019. During his time, the Panthers earned three consecutive NFC South titles, four play-off appearances, a NFC Conference Championship, and a place in Super Bowl 50. He coached 33 Pro Bowlers and 14 AP All Pro athletes during his stay in Carolina.
Coach Kenn is considered one of the most decorated strength and conditioning coaches in the history of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has won both the Collegiate (2002) and the Professional (2013) Strength and Conditioning Coach of the year awards. He is the only member to have accomplished this feat. Among his other awards, he was also named the NSCA Big West (1998) and Mountain West (2000) Strength Coach of the Year.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Registered Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Emeritus Status (RSCC*E), a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), and a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC). He earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Sports Science from Wake Forest University and a Master's of Arts in Education from Boise State University.
Coach Kenn has led the strength and conditioning departments of Boise State University, University of Utah, and Arizona State University. He has been responsible with overseeing the athletic development of over 30 different sports. He has also worked at Pine Crest Preparatory School, Wake Forest University, University of Louisville, and Big House Power Competitive Athletic Training.
Chip Morton
Senior Associate Director - Football Strength & Conditioning at University of South Carolina - Coached in 2 Super Bowl Championships
Chip Morton is in his fourth season in Columbia after joining the Gamecock football strength & conditioning staff in 2021.
Morton coached in the National Football League for 27 seasons from 1992 to 2018, working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the San Diego Chargers (1992-94), as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Carolina Panthers (1995-98), as an assistant for the Baltimore Ravens (1999-2001), and again as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Washington Redskins (2002) and Cincinnati Bengals (2003-18).
During his NFL career his teams compiled a cumulative record of 228-201-3. In addition, Morton has coached two Super Bowl teams – the 1994 Chargers and the 2000 World Champion Ravens.
Prior to working in the NFL, Morton served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Ohio State (1985-86) and Penn State (1987-91).
Morton earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in 1985, and a master’s degree from Ohio State in 1986. He and his wife, Stacey, have seven children, including Gamecock wide receiver Aaron.
Kaila Olson, MS, RD, LD
Performance Dietitian at THE Ohio State University
Kaila Olson, MS, RD, LD became the football program’s sports dietitian in July of 2019 after serving for two and a half years as a dietetic intern at Ohio State. In her role, Olson is responsible for assessing players’ nutritional and health needs and developing meal and nutrition plans to meet their goals.
In addition to her work in the athletics department, Olson also spent two years as a dietetic intern with the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She came to Ohio State following a one-year internship in sports nutrition at her alma mater, University of California, Davis.
While at UC Davis from 2012-16, Olson was a softball player for the Aggies and a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete. She graduated in 2016 with her bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition and dietetics.
Jeff Stern
University of Massachusetts Football Sports Performance Coach, Former Iowa Football Strength Coach
Jeff Stern joins the Massachusetts football program as a Sports Performance Coach after spending two years as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa. He also spent the 2019 season with Iowa football as a strength and conditioning intern.
During Stern’s time with Iowa, the Hawkeyes won 18 games across two seasons, including 10 wins and capturing the Big Ten West Division in 2023. Iowa earned berths to the Citrus and Music City Bowls after the 2023 and 2024 seasons, respectively, and finished the 2023 year ranked No. 24 nationally.
Prior to Iowa, Stern served as an assistant director of strength and conditioning at Central Michigan. There, he implemented strength and conditioning programs for softball and volleyball student-athletes, and assisted football’s strength, speed and conditioning drills. Stern was also responsible for the refueling station for the Chippewas.
Stern had two stints at Merrimack College, first spending the 2020-21 year as a graduate fellow, followed by the 2021 fall semester as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. While on staff, he executed speed, strength and conditioning programs for football, track and field throwers, women’s basketball and women’s tennis.
Before Merrimack, Stern was an assistant strength coach at Toyota Racing Development in Cornelius, North Carolina, and held a strength and conditioning internship with the football program at the University of North Carolina.
Stern, a Marblehead, Massachusetts, native, earned his bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science with a concentration in sports performance in 2020 from Springfield College and his master’s in exercise and sport science from Merrimack in 2021. Stern was a running back for four seasons with the Springfield Pride football team.
Stern is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), is United States Weightlifting Certified (USAW-1) and is certified for CPR and AED.
Cam Josse
Auburn University Football Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach
Previously Cameron Josse was the Athletic Performance Coach for Football at Indiana University.
Prior to arriving at Indiana, Cameron served as associate director of football performance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Cameron also spent 7 years in the private sector as the Director of Sports Performance with DeFranco's Training Systems from 2014-2020.
Cameron has worked with a multitude of athletes in high school and collegiate sports. In addition to training over 40 professional athletes in the NFL, NHL, UFC, and WWE.
Cameron is currently a PhD candidate at Jean Monnet University in Saint-Etienne, France. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology while playing football at the University of Rhode Island and holds a master's degree in exercise science from William Paterson University.

Sean Cooper

Sean Cooper is a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. As a player at SE, he won 4 Conference Titles, was a 3 year starter and an All-Conference Running Back with one Division 2 Playoff Appearance.
Post College, he signed with the Marburg Mercenaries (2008) of the GFL German Football League and played two years in Marburg where he lead the league in rushing as a Rookie with over 2,000 yards. In his second year, he set the GFL Rushing record with 3,089 Rushing Yards and 44 TD’s earning GFL MVP.
He then made a stop in Magdeburg where he played for the Virgin Guards (2010) and he again lead the league in rushing. In 2011, the New Yorker Lions/Rhein Neckar Bandits (2012) was the final stop in his professional career while earning MVP of Europe in 2009 and GFL MVP in 2010.
In December 2013 he was hired as the first Strength & Conditioning Coach in School History where he had the Opportunity to Build The Program & Curriculum from Scratch. Helping Football have the Biggest Turnaround in D2 from 1 Win to 7 wins.
Cooper is certified strength coach through International Sports Science Association (ISSA) as well as an Applied Performance Enhancement Coach through the APEC certification CAPEC. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in finance from Bryant College in 2002. Since returning to Iona Prep Coach Spagnolo has led the Gaels to a 73-20 record including 4 AAA Division Titles, 3 CHSFL Championships (2016 –AA/2021 & 2024 – AAA) and 2 New York State Catholic Championship (2021/2024).
The Gael’s offense under Coach Spagnolo has produced 3 of the top 5 passing seasons in Westchester
County history including the single-season passing record in 2017 (2,774 passing yards) and the
first 2,000 (passing)/1,000 yard (Rushing) QB in NYS history.
During his 9-year tenure at Iona Prep, Coach Spagnolo has sent over 80 student-athletes on to the collegiate level and has coached 4 NFL players during his coaching career.
Prior to accepting the Head Coaching job at Iona Prep, Coach Spagnolo was the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Archbishop Stepinac. During his tenure, Stepinac reached six championship games in ten years including back-to-back CHSFL AAA Championships in 2014 and 2015.
